ONE OF THREE BURGLERS DIES WHILE BEING RESTRAINED BY RESIDENCE TUESDAY JANUARY 28TH IN OYSTER POND judith roumou

A burgler died after being restrained by the potential victims he intended to steal from

On Tuesday January 28th the St Maarten Police Department were dispatched to Oyster Pond Road 162 at roughly 3:00pm. An ongoing robbery had been reported, and the suspect according to sources had been caught in the act, according to the police report.

On the scene of crime, the officers interviewed the family, who were temporarily staying at the residence while on holiday. The family stated that while they were at home, they suddenly were confronted by three unknown men who were trying to break in to their residence.

They caught one of the suspects and held him for the arrival of the police. The victims stated that the suspect in question had started to resist vigorously, while the other two suspects tried to free him by throwing stones at the victims, but did not succeed.

The suspect continued to resist and the victims kept him restrained by holding him down. Meanwhile, the other two suspects jumped into a small white vehicle and made off towards the French side. Police officers gave chase to the vehicle, but lost it as it crossed the French border.

After a while, the restrained suspect stopped resisting and remained lying on the ground. When the investigating officers checked on him he was not showing any signs of life. The paramedics were informed immediately. They came to the scene and tried to resuscitate the suspect without success.

At least three of the victims suffered minor cuts and bruises. They were treated on the scene by paramedics. One of the victims was taken to St. Maarten Medical Center with a suspected broken nose.

The situation was described by a local man: "An American who looked like a body-builder caught a burglar in his house and took him into a neck-lock." This information has not been confirmed.

Detectives and the Forensic Department were informed of the situation immediately and came to the scene to question the victims and collect evidence. Dr. Mercuur arrived on the scene and pronounced the suspect's death. The body has been confiscated to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who has any information about the two outstanding suspects or about the white vehicle used in committing the offence is requested to contact Philipsburg police station.

THE LATEST UPDATE ON THE PATRICK ILLIDGE ARREST MORE DETAILS....

ParliamentARIAN  Patrick Illidge was arrested yesterday morning by National Detectives (Landsrecherche) on suspicion of bribery, money laundering and being a member of a criminal organization, according to the Prosecutors press agent. The allegations refer to Illidge's alleged role in the Bada Bing case, also known as Operation Orca.
It is understood that National Detectives had shown up at Parliament during the budget debates last week in an attempt to speak to Illidge,Illidge was there. There are photo and videos proving that, but it was decided to postpone the arrest until after the budget hearing.
Illidge turned himself into Philipsburg Police Station by appointment in the morning of January 20, where he was taken into custody for questioning.
After receiving the orders after a Joint Court of Justice, The Prosecutor's Office confirmed that they gave the go-ahead for the arrest of Illidge to be prosecuted.
On December 30, 2013 following a closed hearing as a result of the "Landsverordening Vervolging Politieke Gezagdragers" (Ordinance Prosecution Political Authority), which came into effect on 10-10-'10 and which states that a hearing must be held to determine if a person of political authority, including a Member of Parliament such as Illidge, can be prosecuted.
Leroy de Weever, the Parliamentarian who just physically assaulted a female and stole her equipment as he threatened to kill her in front of dozens of witnesses will be next.
Independent parliamentarian Illidge was caught on camera, allegedly accepting a bribe in the Bada Bing case. The case revolves around strip club owner Jaap van den Heuvel, who is at the centre of a corruption probe. Van den Heuvel was arrested last year. His pre-trial detention has been suspended.
Both Illidge and Van den Heuvel had said subsequently that United People's (UP) party leader Theo Heyliger had asked the strip club owner to make the video to blackmail Illidge into helping the UP, which was at that time in opposition, back to power.

CHIKUNGUNYA CLAIMS ITS FIRST DEATH FATALITY ST MARTIN LATEST NEWS AND UPDATE . WHEN WILL OUR GOVERNMENT CONTROL THE ILLEGAL POPULATION WHO IS DESTROY ST MARTINS REPUTATION?

The Préfecture has announced that one fatality has been attributed to the Chikungunya dengue on Friday. St Martin has over 245 registered Chikungunya cases, and the death of this 81 year old man is the first death that has been linked to the disease although the older man did already have complications from another illness.
The Préfet, the Chikungunya management committee and Agence Regional de Santé (ARS) Territorial Délégué Pascal Godefroy.
This has been the worst PR (Public Relations) nightmare for the French Tourism industry. And many locals are taking out their frustrations on the mostly unregulated increase of many illegal foreigners. Chikungunya is a West African disease which some feel have been brought into and spread by certain larger, poorer islands causing an epidemic.
St Martiners are fed up with the fact that many poorer countries, known for the worst health issues, including Cholera in the Western Hemisphere are bringing in these diseases, and destroying St Martin's great name with it.
It is now considered worldwide that St Martin is the culprit, the region of the onset of this disease, but we locals contribute these "new' mutant diseases as just the beginning as sick people from poorer countries, pour into islands like St Maarten to find work. There has to be strict immigration laws including health checks, and even stricter deportation laws when illegals are discovered and have to return.
St Maarten/ St Martin has always been the "Friendly" island, and many thousands have taken advantage of St Maarten/St Martin's open door policy and that has to stop.
The governments are encouraging these women because with the CAF government "Cheese", all these women have to do is get pregnant to collect a check.
Many times the children are not local and have no local parents, but payment agreements are made where local St Martin men, claim these children, and receive a part of their monthly checks.
These foreign CAF COWS, usually solicit men who are either mentally unstable or are hard core drug addicts. He claims to be the Father, and although its a lie, they then receive St Martin tax money to support them.
Rather than investing millions in illegitimate children who are not native St Maarteners, the government should be investing in DNA tests, which will cost them a lot less than paying out some illegal child that has NO blood ties or rights to St Maarten.
We must as St Maartener demand DNA testing on ALL these children, enough with the scams. When you go to Europe or the United States to live you are expected to live UP to their standards. The St Maarten government has allowed all these Haitians and other third world mentality people, to bring St Maarten down to THEIR level. They arrive in St Maarten, set up slums, illegal shacks as the government turn a blind eye.
To be continue.
Be on the lookout for signs and symptoms of Chikungunya Dengue which may include, incredible joint pains, fevers, chills, aches and vomiting. I will include a description below with all the sypmtom

Chikungunya

Fact sheet N°327
Updated January 2014

Key facts

  • Chikungunya is a viral disease transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. It causes fever and severe joint pain. Other symptoms include muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and rash.
  • The disease shares some clinical signs with dengue, and can be misdiagnosed in areas where dengue is common.
  • There is no cure for the disease. Treatment is focused on relieving the symptoms.
  • The proximity of mosquito breeding sites to human habitation is a significant risk factor for chikungunya.
  • Since 2004, chikungunya fever has reached epidemic proportions, with considerable morbidity and suffering.
  • The disease occurs in Africa, Asia and the Indian subcontinent. In recent decades mosquito vectors of chikungunya have spread to Europe and the Americas. In 2007, disease transmission was reported for the first time in a localized outbreak in north-eastern Italy.

Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne viral disease first described during an outbreak in southern Tanzania in 1952. It is an RNA virus that belongs to the alphavirus genus of the family Togaviridae. The name ‘chikungunya’ derives from a word in the Kimakonde language, meaning "to become contorted" and describes the stooped appearance of sufferers with joint pain (arthralgia).

Signs and symptoms

Chikungunya is characterized by an abrupt onset of fever frequently accompanied by joint pain. Other common signs and symptoms include muscle pain, headache, nausea, fatigue and rash. The joint pain is often very debilitating, but usually lasts for a few days or may be prolonged to weeks.
Most patients recover fully, but in some cases joint pain may persist for several months, or even years. Occasional cases of eye, neurological and heart complications have been reported, as well as gastrointestinal complaints. Serious complications are not common, but in older people, the disease can contribute to the cause of death. Often symptoms in infected individuals are mild and the infection may go unrecognized, or be misdiagnosed in areas where dengue occurs.

Transmission

Chikungunya has been identified in nearly 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and also in the Americas.
Chikungunya map

The virus is transmitted from human to human by the bites of infected female mosquitoes. Most commonly, the mosquitoes involved are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, two species which can also transmit other mosquito-borne viruses, including dengue. These mosquitoes can be found biting throughout daylight hours, though there may be peaks of activity in the early morning and late afternoon. Both species are found biting outdoors, but Ae. aegypti will also readily feed indoors.
After the bite of an infected mosquito, onset of illness occurs usually between four and eight days but can range from two to 12 days.

Diagnosis

Several methods can be used for diagnosis. Serological tests, such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), may confirm the presence of IgM and IgG anti-chikungunya antibodies. IgM antibody levels are highest three to five weeks after the onset of illness and persist for about two months. Samples collected during the first week after the onset of symptoms should be tested by both serological and virological methods (RT-PCR).
The virus may be isolated from the blood during the first few days of infection. Various reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction (RT–PCR) methods are available but are of variable sensitivity. Some are suited to clinical diagnosis. RT–PCR products from clinical samples may also be used for genotyping of the virus, allowing comparisons with virus samples from various geographical sources.

Treatment

There is no specific antiviral drug treatment for Chikungunya. Treatment is directed primarily at relieving the symptoms, including the joint pain using anti-pyretics, optimal analgesics and fluids. There is no commercial chikungunya vaccine.

Prevention and control

The proximity of mosquito vector breeding sites to human habitation is a significant risk factor for chikungunya as well as for other diseases that these species transmit. Prevention and control relies heavily on reducing the number of natural and artificial water-filled container habitats that support breeding of the mosquitoes. This requires mobilization of affected communities. During outbreaks, insecticides may be sprayed to kill flying mosquitoes, applied to surfaces in and around containers where the mosquitoes land, and used to treat water in containers to kill the immature larvae.
For protection during outbreaks of chikungunya, clothing which minimizes skin exposure to the day-biting vectors is advised. Repellents can be applied to exposed skin or to clothing in strict accordance with product label instructions. Repellents should contain DEET (N, N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide), IR3535 (3-[N-acetyl-N-butyl]-aminopropionic acid ethyl ester) or icaridin (1-piperidinecarboxylic acid, 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-methylpropylester). For those who sleep during the daytime, particularly young children, or sick or older people, insecticide treated mosquito nets afford good protection. Mosquito coils or other insecticide vaporizers may also reduce indoor biting.
Basic precautions should be taken by people traveling to risk areas and these include use of repellents, wearing long sleeves and pants and ensuring rooms are fitted with screens to prevent mosquitoes from entering.

Disease outbreaks

Chikungunya occurs in Africa, Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Human infections in Africa have been at relatively low levels for a number of years, but in 1999-2000 there was a large outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and in 2007 there was an outbreak in Gabon.
Starting in February 2005, a major outbreak of chikungunya occurred in islands of the Indian Ocean. A large number of imported cases in Europe were associated with this outbreak, mostly in 2006 when the Indian Ocean epidemic was at its peak. A large outbreak of chikungunya in India occurred in 2006 and 2007. Several other countries in South-East Asia were also affected. Since 2005, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Maldives and Myanmar have reported over 1.9 million cases. In 2007 transmission was reported for the first time in Europe, in a localized outbreak in north-eastern Italy. There were 197 cases recorded during this outbreak and it confirmed that mosquito-borne outbreaks by Ae. Albopictus are plausible in Europe.

More about disease vectors

Both Ae. aegypti and Ae. albopictus have been implicated in large outbreaks of chikungunya. Whereas Ae. aegypti is confined within the tropics and sub-tropics, Ae. albopictus also occurs in temperate and even cold temperate regions. In recent decades Ae. albopictus has spread from Asia to become established in areas of Africa, Europe and the Americas.
The species Ae. albopictus thrives in a wider range of water-filled breeding sites thanAe. aegypti, including coconut husks, cocoa pods, bamboo stumps, tree holes and rock pools, in addition to artificial containers such as vehicle tyres and saucers beneath plant pots. This diversity of habitats explains the abundance of Ae. albopictus in rural as well as peri-urban areas and shady city parks.
Ae. aegypti is more closely associated with human habitation and uses indoor breeding sites, including flower vases, water storage vessels and concrete water tanks in bathrooms, as well as the same artificial outdoor habitats as Ae. albopictus.
In Africa several other mosquito vectors have been implicated in disease transmission, including species of the A. furcifer-taylori group and A. luteocephalus. There is evidence that some animals, including non-primates, rodents, birds and small mammals may act as reservoirs.

WHO response

PARLIAMENTARIAN PETRUS LEROY DE WEEVER'S LATEST ASSAULT BEING ACTIVELY INVESTIGATED BY LANDS RECHERCHE AND PROSECUTORS

Veteran Dutch Sint Maarten Parliamentarian, Petrus Leroy de Weever has been accused of a local blogger, unprovoked. At roughly 3:00 pm on Saturday the 11th of January 2014. The local blogger was walking on Frontstreet, Philipsburg. She had a new Samsung tablet, a pink cell phone and ten dollars american cash in her hands. The blogger was focused on learning how to use the Tablet, but did notice Parliamentarian Petrus Leroy de Weever walk out of an alley and towards her. There had been differences in the past, but the blogger did not even expect to be approached by the Parliamentarian. The Parliamentarian had been upset and threatened the blogger before because he had been upset at photos that she had taken of him at the St Maarten Courthouse along with his colleague Roy Marlin, deep in conversation with attorney Cor Merx. The blogger/photographer took roughly 20 photos of the three men in conversation with open documents, there was no malice or bad intent. The blogger/vlogger/photographer is known for taking Court House pictures.
The blogger then went to the media room of the Parliament video and uploaded the photos along with the title; "The Plot Thickens". There had just been a huge scandal involving Patrick Illidge and the Bada Bing scandal, and when the blogger enlarged the photos on her laptop and realized who the men in suits were, she added the title as a twist to the Bada Bing saga. It was weird that Leroy de Weever and Roy Marlin who were both democratics were deep in discussion with the attorney of Jaap van den Heuvel who had aligned with Patrick and Independent member of Parliament.
Many St Maarteners even the most educated understand English well but don't have a good enough grasp of it. Leroy de Weever flew up the Parliament stairs in a rage, and entered the Media room screaming with his hands and face in the bloggers face, where his spit was hitting her face. He demanded that she removed the blog, that it was insinuating, it was libelous and scandalous. Dozens of witnesses in Parliament witnessed the threats. He promised to bring in the best lawyer to sue the blogger. The blogger told him to go ahead. As he stood there, the blogger then blogged about Leroy threatening her, reposted the photos and explained that "The Plot Thickens", means that the story gets MORE interesting. It in no way insinuated that he was plotting anything. However his outrageous and extreme behaviour at Parliament had many wondering why he would react that way, and why there would be a plot.
The government then FELL again, so then everyone kinda understood that there had been something amiss.
When his vicious threats did not work towards the blogger he tried 'niceness' and 'kindness'.
The blogger is independent, has no sponsors or open support. Occassionally he would offer her lunch, sometimes it would be tight, and Leroy would send the blogger to his daughter's Blush store to collect some change to get her by.
The blogger did not see this as a bribe, because Leroy de Weever is her cousin, he's a millionaire. And maybe he was just trying to make up for the awful things he'd done.
In late 2013 the blogger decided to set up individual community pages for every district in St Maarten. She does the work for free, but she asked for community members including Ministers, Parliamentarians and the Government to contribute towards these community pages which were being set up free of charge, but GEBE and Caribserve charge for the use of their equipment. In 2014 the pages began. Many thought it was a great idea, and they have seen the work, how its coming along and more and more are assisting.
Leroy de Weever refused to contribute (it was to Caribserve) because the photos with him at the courthouse still were posted worldwide.
The insinuation was he would help with the contribution but only when the photos were removed
The blogger said no. They had the blogger spend money, and phone credit all day. Even told her to wait until 3:30.
The following day the blogger texted Leroy de Weever and told him that it was horrible having someone wait and waste money he could have said no on the phone. She then wished him the best in campaign 2014.
leroy text back: Your Attitude is why I won't contribute.
The blogger text back: Got 1000 dollars, GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES....you lil shit!
That was Friday. By Saturday the blogger was back on the Boardwalk taking photos. When she saw Eva Leroy's daughter she said.  "That was rude" having someone wait all day in town, spend money waste credit etc. She said get the "((*&^ out my store"
I stepped to the sidewalk. Millicent de Weever came out from a back office and said Get the (*&^ outta here before I break your Tablet (the blogger carried two backpacks with cameras, equipment and laptops) the tablet was in her hand. When Millicent de Weever threatened to break/bust the bloggers tablet. As she stood on the sidewalk she said to Millicent de Weever (Leroy's sister) "Break my Tablet?" You mean the same way your brother Leroy de Weever stood up on stage and break and busted your face in public, destroying your political career?" The blogger than went to passagran where she told a pal what happened. The pal also witnessed her with her tablet in her hand. The person reached into her purse and handed the blogger ten dollars she said "eat something" you just stress and don't eat. The blogger walked through the passagrahan hotel and into Frontstreet.
She saw Leroy approach and thought nothing of it. It walked close enough to where their stomachs touched and kneed her with all his might in the groin/crotch. Noticing her Tablet she assumed that he had been recorded. He snatched it as he threatened to kill her. The blogger noticed Health Minister Cornelius de Weever in an SUV on the same street behind. She said "Your uncle just assaulted me and took my Tablet. Cornelius got out. Leroy took off down the alley with her tablet.
He returned shortly after-a crowd had gathered- and told the crowd to beat the blogger.
When the blogger attempted to call the police he smashed her phone to the ground. It was picked up by Cornelius de Weever who put it back together and placed it at the top of a jeep/SUV.
The police arrived, The blogger was sent promptly to the Emergency Room, and then filed a complaint with the Sint Maarten police department who turned it over to the Prosecutor and Taco Stein.
The blogger contacted Taco Stein on Monday to make sure that because of his position he wouldn't get away. Taco Stein promised a thorough investigation.
The blogger was contacted by the Lands Recherche who returned with her to the scene and photographed and collected evidence.
Louis Laveist stood up in Parliament as Leroy de Weever sat there, and said that "in 2014 we cannot have women abusers in Parliament. William Marlin also in Parliament demanded that Leroy de Weever apologize for the attack.
There have been many more threats, but no apologies.
To be continued

OFFICIAL RELEASE THE 2014 CARNIVAL CALENDER ST MAARTEN ITS ON!

page1a196
PHILIPSBURG--Scotiabank and the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) released the official design for the 2014 Carnival schedule of events on Tuesday. Popularly called the "Carnival Calendar," it will be distributed island and region wide.
Scotiabank is once again the exclusive sponsor of the calendar, and besides its branding on the front of the calendar, Scotiabank will be feature prominently on the opposite side as well. Carnival activities for 2014 span three months with pre-Carnival events beginning in March and the official programme ending on May 5.
Though the dates of Carnival were released in September 2013, Carnival lovers and supporters near and far greet the release of the official design of the calendar as a signal that Carnival is right around the corner.
"It has always been this way. When we release the design, you know we are ready to play mas," SCDF President Mike Granger said. "All credit for the colourful design should go to Cleon Frederick and his company So Contagious who has been our official designer for a number of years. He has given us our look and style," Granger said.
He complimented Minister of Labour Cornelius De Weever and his team for working with the SCDF to work out what turned out to be a complicated schedule. It was agreed that April 30, firmly established as the holiday for the Grand Carnival Parade will remain as is with the Labour Day Parade on May 1.
King's Day, which is now April 27 and also a holiday, will be used for the Jouvert Morning holiday. King's Day falls on a Sunday in 2014 so the Jouvert holiday will be given the day before, Saturday, April 26, the same day the rest of the Kingdom will be celebrating the King's birthday. Carnival Village will open on Easter Monday, April 21, and close on Monday, April 5.
The Carnival schedule also features five international concert nights, including the return of Night of the Hit Makers, Riddim Box Presents, Sabor Latino II, the Zouk concert and new comer to the concert night scene will be Where The Flex who will be responsible for the Reggae concert.
Making a return for the 45th anniversary of Carnival and beyond is the PJD2 Caribbean Queen Pageant, a collaborative effort between the SCDF and PJD2. The SCDF also returns with three other pageants: the Teen, Senior and Mature Pageants.
Also on the schedule are three events that are not directly under the auspices of the SCDF but compliment Carnival and as such are included – Brenda Wathey and Rio Productions return with their Lightin' Up The Road Lighted Parade, Jasmine Philips and the Survivors Foundation will host their Children's Balloon Parade and E360 Marketing in collaboration with Sound 2000 will again present Daybreak Breakfast Fete.

ST MAARTEN DIASPORA AND WHY THEY HAVE MORE RIGHTS THAN ANYONE ELSE TO VOTE IN ST MAARTEN judith roumou

JULIO ROMNEY PHOTO TODAY PAPER
JULIO ROMNEY PHOTO TODAY PAPER
My response is to "political analyst" Mr Julio Romney, who believes that the St Maarten Diaspora (born St Maartener living abroad) shouldn't be able to vote in the upcoming St Maarten elections. Wait a minute Mr Rombley......any immigrant with some cash was able to BUY his residency permit and Citizenship in St Maarten. Are you saying that these people have more rights to vote the the born St Maarteners? Looking at our Government, some might notice how many NON NATIVE St Maarteners are in power, running St Maarten into the ground, allowing it to be taken over by foreigners for a few pennies. And don't blame the St Maartener for this mess, the voter has his share of the blame, but it is our government who are the cheap prostitutes selling St Maarten out to anyone with the cash to pay for it. Unlike those many Indians who could walk into our Government Building and for ten thousand dollars cash, get a business license within 8 hours, St Maarteners DO NOT have the ten thousand bribe money in cash laying around to pay off our corrupt government officials. And even if they did have the cash, unlike the Indians and Chinese, they're not going to willingly bribe our phat-cat government. We believe that they make enough money over and under the table. There is a huge St Maarten diaspora (5000 born St Maarteners abroad) Why? Because the St Maarten government will send their youth away to school for higher education, but when these educated St Maarteners return, they are treated like shit. Given jobs way below the living standards and are subjected to treatment worse than any illegal alien. When the educated St Maartener returns, unless they have some high family connections, or are talented at kissing tainted government ass, they are offered the worst jobs, and are frequently told that they are overqualified. Employers who got their jobs not because of their education or qualification, but through the usual route of St Maarten nepotism and cronyism, see educated St Maarteners as a threat. They are reluctant to hire anyone who they may see as being more intelligent than they are because they don't want the fact that they have a job, but know NOTHING about what they're doing, to be seen by someone who actually has a brain-and uses it to its full potential. St Maarteners stay abroad because many when they return to THEIR country are grounded down to dust. Many are told to lower their standards, and not show too much intelligence. As much as they love St Maarten, why would they subject themselves to that? Why would they get their Masters degree, and return to St Maarten only to be told by some Human Resources director i.e. Claudine Wescot Williams....Sarah's daughter, that "Degrees mean NOTHING"!!! Now Sarah Wescot Williams daughter barely made it through highschool, and her mom certainly it seems set her up with a plum position at the Westin. Not because she has the knowledge-she is barely literate- but because of who her mother is, and her mother's connection to the Westin. We don't call the Prime Minister Sarah Westin Williams for no reason. Why would a born St Maartener return to St Maarten to get paid $5.00 per hour, when countries like the United States are willing to pay them $50.00 and up for their bi-lingual skills? Why should educated, talented St Maarteners return to a country where THEY are the minority. A country which their incompetent government has run into the sewer and septic tanks. Why should they leave their full IRA's, Medical, Dental, Social Security etc.. to come to a country that can barely provide them with SVB? The Diaspora have MORE rights to vote than any of these "bought" St Maarteners. They care more about this country, although they live abroad.
These new parasites that every politican is jumping on because they have papers now, will use up St Maarten, and simply head somewhere else when St Maarten is sucked dry. Educated St Maarteners avoid St Maarten because they want to earn an honest living, not sit in some airconditioned bureaucratic office punging mundane melee as their brains atrophy. When will the St Maartener be allowed to return to St Maarten, and be given a small business loan, and allowed to do 'his thing', and be given the benefits of his taxes, as opposed to watching his dollar go to promote scams like TEMPO? I will activaly set up a campaign, to make sure EVERY TRUE BORN ST MAARTENER CAN VOTE IN OUR ELECTIONS, NO MATTER WHERE THEY MAY BE ON EARTH.
There's 5000 of us 'out there', but they government has allowed 100.000 of 'them' to flood our country, making the local voter and vote obsolete.
I will stand by my statement to Lasana M Sekou, that St Maarten should ADAPT the Dominicano method AND REVOKE ALL OF THEIR VISAS AND PASSPORTS!!!! Shanty town Fires, Chikungunya Dengue, and then what? Cholera?
The HIV/AIDS rates have sky rocketed, but what do you expect when you're allowing these people in-NO PAPERS!-to do as they please? Illegals destroying our country and its tourism. They say we need them.. REALLY? How many unemployed St Maarten youths out there, because they can pay the illegal worker more than the St Maartener? But the St Maartener is supposed to return to this? St Maarteners who actually return to St Maarten, and don't join the system and point out the flaws are persecuted, labeled, slandered, locked up, institutionalized. How many brilliant minds have returned to St Maarten over the years and have been locked up, institutionalized and KILLED for having the audacity to point out that something is seriously wrong in our country? Until The St Maarten Government treats the true St Maartener better, they will continue to avoid this cesspit called St Maarten, but what they really need to be doing is fighting you from abroad. People like The Anguilla Realist Spikenice have set up a network of Anguillas both at home and abroad, to hammer their government.
When a St Maartener loses everything, they have to be at Parliament day in and day out begging to get a crumb. When those Dominicano shacks in town, and those slums in Cole Bay burned down, government was there kissing butt, because they already sold them their 'rights'.
We need TRUE activists in St Maarten, not those radio shams, and tv con artist, and newspaper puppets
People with the spine and guts to take on whatever the St Maarten Government throws at them, when they told the truth.

Obviously I did not get to the second page. Against better judgment, I was reading in traffic. Stationary traffic that is. The only question that actually remains is the one regarding placement of questions re. Theo.

Mike,
I miss the overarching question: how would you vote if elections were held today?
I would add immigration to the list of issues.
Unless there is a strategic reason, I would put the questions regarding Theo at the bottom.
What about a direct question regarding support for country status?
These are my comments.

Folks, attached Julio's proposed survey questions. Please let me have your comments asap so I can respond to him by this afternoon. SWW, can I ask that you call up all G-8 members and ask for their feedback to me, as I am not sure all other members get to their email as fast as we need them to, in this case.
Thanks much.

Hi Julio:
No, while I was looking out for the proposed questionnaire, I have not yet received anything from you. Anxious to get this project on the way. Personally I am not so sure if "testing" in January is such a good thing. I would have been ecstatic if this was THE election for Country SXM! I do not at all agree with yet another Federal election. But we shall see.
The need for the results of your survey is so much more urgent now, so anything we can do to expedite the process will be appreciated.
I am in Fort Lauderdale till Monday evening and can be reached on (305)-778-6780.
Please re-send the questionnaire info asap. Thanks much.

Hi Michael

All signs are that there will be Parliamentary elections in January 2010. This could be a good thing for the Democratic Party.  This would pose an excellent opportunity for the party to test its continued electability in light of the Laviest / Heyliger saga before the Island elections.

By the way did you receive the questionnaire? Should you have any questions and/or concerns please don’t hesitate to pose them.
Please inform me accordingly.

Julio
