In St Maarten/ St Martin political satire is considered to be an attack. Above is politician Billy D (Jacques Hamlet) owner SOS radio St Martin. The groom is veteran Dutch politician Julian Rollocks. Now as politicians no one has done more damage to St Martin/ St Maarten. But for some reason when these two are on the radio pretending to be DJ's or Radio Hosts, no one really calls them on their hotline and say...."Hey! Both of you guys are veteran politicians, you both have been a part of the corrupt system for decades, how dare you now come on the air, and pretend to offer solutions, when you are a main source of what is destroying St Martin today." Usually I simply post the pictures, but by popular demand I will start to add blog commentaries. People always ask... "what is the main difference between St Martin and St Maarten". One of the biggest differences is that the St Martiners will rise up and protest what they consider to be unfair or unjust, while the Dutch St Maarteners are content to sit back, drink Heinekens and complain about it. Both St Martin and St Maarten have their issues. Both have been sold out by their politicians. In the above images, the St Martiners came out early to protest BTP. The standoff between the demonstrators started at The Merrie, when the gendarmes (police) blocked the path of the protestors. There was an impasse as the local politicians hastily got together to try to reach an agreement
